As concentrated investors who think and act like long-term owners, we endeavour to fully integrate sustainability in all its important dimensions into company analysis and valuation. Assessing sustainability risk is fundamental to the way we analyse businesses, short-list companies, and build portfolios.
Environmental Social Governance (ESG)
The quality characteristics sought when selecting an investment in a company are synonymous with sustainability and many of the factors labelled under environmental, social and governance (ESG). Rather than compartmentalising ESG, we use these factors alongside financial metrics when evaluating the quality of a business. These overall beliefs are embedded throughout the firm and applicable to all products.
Climate
Veritas Asset Management has committed to manage 100% of AUM in line with Net Zero by 2050. We are signatories of the Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative (“NZAM”), the Science Based Target initiative (“SBTi”) and the Taskforce on Climate related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”).
Stewardship
We think of ourselves as ‘engaged owners’ of the businesses we invest in on behalf of our clients. Execution of our fiduciary duty includes targeted voting and engagement policies. A synopsis of our proxy voting activity is available to view below:
